Bulldozer refurbished at DHML Westport Workshop

Caterpillar bulldozer D11R No.2 provided sterling service to the company while based at Stockton Mine.
Bought ex. Japan in March 2005 with 233hrs on the clock the D11R went straight to work at Stockton to replace the soon to be retired D11N No.1, and in early 2010 the D11R underwent a scheduled full component rebuild.
This latest work including a complete undercarriage refurbishment was carried out in the company workshop in Westport by Gavin Thompson, Wayne Nicol, Ash Oldham & Josh Cave under the management of Roger Strang.
D11R No.2 is now ready to go mining and Gavin Begg, the company’s Plant Manager, expects the tractor to perform well to the end of its economic life.
